The St Lucia Taxi Chronicle

COVID-19 has changed the travelling requirements to St. Lucia. As a result, travelers from North American and Europe must register online prior to traveling, however, approval is not required for boarding.

You will also need a  COVID test  before your arrival.  There are two sets of information for fully vaccinated and for those who are not vaccinated.  I strongly recommend reading all the information before you finalize your travel plans to St. Lucia.  You could also link to all travel information for St. Lucia.

Once you have followed all the government requirements, you may want to consider travelling to your hotel in St. Lucia via a COVID certified taxi.  I can provide my services. I have been providing my service to clients for more than twenty years. I am also fully vaccinated with two dose Pfizer vaccine.

Many people who travel to St. Lucia forget to think of their safety. However, it is one of the most important things when planning a vacation. Here are some of things to consider for your trip to St. Lucia.

Travel Insurance

Make sure you have adequate insurance coverage for your trip. Travel insurance guarantees that you will recover some of your money in case of bad weather or unexpected emergency. Additionally, you should check that your medical and dental insurance covers any expenses you may incur overseas. Even though you have medical insurance, you might still have to pay out of pocket for services and then file a claim for reimbursement upon return to your home country

Locate Your Embassy

Locate the embassy or the consulate of your country that is serving Saint Lucia. If you are travelling from the US to St. Lucia, you might want to register your trip with Smart Traveler Enrollment Program. When you are a registered traveler, the US government is able to better assist you in case you lose your passport and/or if you find yourself in crisis. However, you should also know what the US Department of State can and cannot do if you find yourself in trouble while in St. Lucia. For travelers from the European Union, you should familiarize yourself with the European Consular Protection . If you are coming to St. Lucia from the UK, you should get familiar with the British High Commission on St. Lucia. Routine Vaccines

Travelers to St. Lucia should be up-to-date on routine vaccines before their trip. These vaccines include measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, polio vaccine, and your yearly flu shot. You should always consult your health professional before your trip to Saint. Lucia because their know your situation and are  in the best position to advise you about all health related concerns before your trip. Once in St. Lucia, you should get the police emergency number and the hospital numbers from your hotel.

Hike Fort Rodney, Pigeon Point, Gros Islet

This is an easy hike. When you reach the top you will see Martinique on a clear day, and you will get a fantastic view of the town of Gros Islet. On your way down, relax in the park and enjoy the calming ocean breeze, and you might want to pack a picnic. 

Visit the Drive-in Volcano, Soufriere

One of most visited sites in St. Lucia, a must see.  When you go, pay the extra to take the sulfur infused bath from the volcano water. The town Soufriere has one of the richest history in the St. Lucia, and it was one of the most important town during French colonisation.  

An Island Tour: The best way to see St. Lucia

This is a longer trip that will take you through most of the villages.  You will past through banana plantation though not longer in the glory days of the 1990s.  While in this tour you might be want to pace yourself to make time to eat a fish meal in a restaurant in Soufriere.   On you way back to Castries make a stop at the Reef in Vieux Fort to enjoy a cold drink before your hour drive. 

Visit and Eat at the Castries Market, Castries

The Castries Market is locally known at the People’s University. Ask anyone why it is called the People’s University.  It is a great place to grab lunch. It is fine for you to try to a local fruit while at the market. The market is also the place get some great cinnamon, bay leaves and souvenirs for friends and family.  

Visit Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Castries

This is a great place to sit, relax and reflect. You will see the art work of one of St. Lucia’s finest artists, the late Dunstan St. Omer.
